Audi last night claimed the top three grid positions for the start of the 2013 Le Mans 24-Hour. At the end of yesterday’s final two qualifying sessions, both of which were marred by rain and the unfurling of red flags, it was the No.2 Audi Sport Team Joest R18 e-tron quattro of Loïc Duval, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish that remained at the top of the LMP1 chart with an unbeaten time of 3:22.349.

Second position went to the No.1 car (Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer, Benoît Tréluyer) and third, ironically, the No.3 machine piloted by Marc Gené, Lucas di Grassi and Oliver Jarvis. Fourth and fifth places were claimed by the No.8 (Anthony Davidson, Stéphane Sarrazin, Sébastien Buemi) and No.7 (Alex Wurz, Nicolas Lapierre, Kazuki Nakajima) factory Toyota TS030 Hybrids.
