Renault has just announced that their legendary Alpine marque will feature on the entry list of this year’s 24-Hours of Le Mans. Following a 35-year absence from the world’s most gruelling endurance race, the Renault-Alpine outfit will be teaming up with Signatech to build a LMP2 prototype challenger powered by a 500hp Nissan engine. So far confirmed drivers include Pierre Ragues and Nelson Panciatici. The third and final pilot will be announced when the car is officially launched at the Le Castellet race track, South of France, later this month.
