In case you don’t know, RUF is a German company that specialises in making already fast Porsches even faster. And one of their most iconic builds was this fearsome CTR Yellowbird of the late 1980s. Produced in limited numbers, it packed a turbocharged 3.2-litre flat-six boxer engine that was good for 350kW and 553Nm.
This meant that the Yellowbird could hit 100km/h in 3.7-seconds and charge on to a maximum top speed of over 320km/h – faster than both the Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959. With all this power on tap it goes without saying that this RUF was nothing short of a proper handful; a fact that’s clearly demonstrated in this video where test driver, Stefan Roser, takes it around the Nürburgring.
