Watch a Tesla Model S beat a BMW M5 to 100mph

So it turns out the new Tesla Model S is quite the sleeper. Yep, in a recent shootout orchestrated by Automobile Magazine, Elon Musk’s luxury sedan sprinted to 100mph quicker than the turbocharged BMW M5. I couldn’t believe it either but seeing is believing.

Sometimes with a better driver, a car can go faster than it’s competitor. I think the BMW had a chance to beat the Tesla Model S if a world class driver had been behind the wheel. Regardess, i think it was impressive that in this video, the Model S did so well. it really exceeded my expectations of it.

This is a great video. BMW has been known for quick pick-up speed and it has been niche in the market for a long time. With Tesla model S beating BMW M5 in pick up speed, drivers may have another option. Further, the starting price of Tesla Model S is a little lower then BMW M5, making it more attractive for drivers who are looking for cars with similar pick-up speed.
