Mazda has treated their current NC-chassis MX-5 to one last upgrade before it disappears forever. A swan song before the all-new model arrives sometime near the end of 2013, it gives the world’s best-selling roadster an aggressive new front apron as well as smoother throttle mapping and improved brake feel. Other highlights include a new colour – Dolphin Grey – and an innovative “active bonnet” pedestrian protection system that automatically raises the bonnet (to soften the blow) if a pedestrian impact is detected. Finally, Mazda claims that the interior now benefits from a more refined look and feel.
