Hyundai recently launched their new iX35 SUV here in South Africa and to advertise it they’ve cut an excellent TV commercial that pokes fun at the BBC’s Top Gear. Changing the name of the show to “Top Deer,” it spoofs one of the show’s usual review inserts and portrays presenters Clarkson, Hammond and May as the animals that most suit their trademark on-screen personalities. In between all the wry humour and wit, it also showcases some of the standard, value-add features that make the new iX35 such an attractive buy. It’s bloody brilliant, in my opinion, and shows that some of our country’s creative minds are managing to keep their heads above the current wave of mediocrity.
