The replica 1961 Ferrari 250GT California Spyder that was used in the 1986 teen-comedy, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, was auctioned off for $122 000 (R876 000) at Bonhams in London on Monday. Obviously bestowed with quite an enviable Hollywood pedigree, this dapper convertible surprised Bonham’s auctioneers as it went for well above the predicted pre-sale estimate of $45 000 – $60 000 (R337 500 – R450 000).
