According to a report on Autosport.com, Mercedes-Benz has taken over the Brawn GP Formula One team after purchasing a 75.1 percent stake in the championship-winning outfit. Though changing the team’s name to Mercedes Grand Prix, the automotive giant has decided to keep Ross Brawn on as team principal and will continue working out of Brawn GP’s current development headquarters in Brackley, UK. The first time since 1955 that Mercedes-Benz has competed in Formula One as full on factory team, they look set – going on Brawn’s phenomenal 2009 performance – to make a particularly convincing comeback. Of course this all hinges on who will be actually driving their cars as Mercedes is still yet to confirm their official 2010 lineup.
