Lotus has joined the dark side with their new Exige Stealth (or Scura depending on which market you’re actually in) scheduled to make its first public appearance at the 41st running of the Tokyo International Motor Show beginning this Friday. Coated with matte black paint and bestickered with glossy, contrasting go-faster stripes, the menacing new Exige Stealth is loaded with lots of trick carbon fibre scoops and wings for that authentic race-car look and feel. Power comes from a 194-kilowatt supercharged four-cylinder engine, whilst that already track-proven chassis benefits from Lotus Launch Control, Lotus Variable Slip Traction Control and special two-way adjustable Ohlins dampers – all products of the Lotus Exige GT3 development program. Being 10 kilograms lighter than a regular Exige also means that the Stealth will now sprint to 100km/h in just 4.1 seconds and run up to a maximum speed of around 245km/h. Unfortunately, and this really hurts the Lotus fanatic in me, Hethel only plans to build 35 of these awesome looking cars and none are due for this part of the world. Guess I’ll just have to keep perving over these pictures then…
