Ferrari chairman, Luca di Montezemolo, has said that he’s “confident in the recovery” of badly injured Ferrari driver Felipe Massa after the visiting him at the AEK hospital in Budapest. Massa, who was severly injured during Saturday’s qualifying session for the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday is no longer in a life-threatening condition but doctors are still uncertain about whether or not the Brazilian’s damaged left eye will affect his future in Formula One. Dr Robert Veres, the neurosurgeon who operated on the wounded 28-year-old, told the press on Monday that “It’s too early to say anything concerning his (Massa’s) future.” Dr Veres also added that Massa will remain sedated “to protect his brain,” which obviously experienced some swelling after the heavy impact of the crash.
