British Airways launched another special fare offer this morning with return fares from Cape Town or Johannesburg to London starting at R4 380, including taxes, for travel between 23 and 26 December

Nice fare, indeed. If you can get it.

In another effort to lure passengers aboard, the airline is also offering a R655 discount on UK transit visas for anyone travelling to any of 15 European destinations. That’s a big chunk of cash, which speaks volumes about the high cost of UK visas.

Nice of BA, but am still so annoyed about the ridiculous transit visa in the first place, that I will make a deliberate point of rather transiting through a European hub like Frankfurt. But nevertheless, kudos to BA for this promotion. Can BA actually obtain the visa for one? I hear that obtaining the visa, regardless of the cost, is a nightmare in it’s own right!

AVOID transiting through London. Transit visa fee is a ripoff. Don’t waste ur time or money going to London.
