According to Forbes magazine, Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker were the highest-earning actresses last year, with bankrolls that topped $30 million each.
Most of Jolie’s cash came from the worldwide success of her thriller “Salt,” which made $300 million, and “The Tourist,” which raked in $280 million, despite some bad reviews.
In an interview with MTV, Forbes’ Dorothy Pomerantz said “”People may be surprised to see Sarah Jessica Parker up there but they may not realize that in addition to acting, she earns big from her perfumes and endorsement deals. She earned $18 million in 2010 from her successful perfume line alone”
But the bulk of Parker’s earnings came from her payments for reruns of her TV series “Sex and the City,” on which she is a producer and additional payments from the second “Sex And The City ” film, which took $290 million in international box office.
Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are just behind the top earners; they each took home an estimated $28 million. Other actresses that made the list include Julia Roberts ($20 million), “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart ($20 million), Katherine Heigl ($19 million), Cameron Diaz ($18 million), Sandra Bullock ($15 million) and Meryl Streep ($10 million).
With Angelina Joli’s incredible beaty, versatile acting skill, intellect, charisma and intriguing mix of saint and sinner she certiantly should be the highest paid actress. What mystifies me are some of the big earners with no real talent, beauty or other obvious skill, other than PR propoganda to boost their profiles. SJP has more talent than JA but both far, far behind Sandra Bullock. KS lucked out with a bound to succeed Twilight series however no real depth to her acting. And what has CD done for a whlie in movies. Guessing JA and the like earn a lot from selling products, further dilutes their acting cred but I guess money is money. The photo of Angie next to Sarah really does show how young Angie is, she has an enduring beauty. Just wishing others with real talent were paid for their skill and not their media profile.
