If your into social networking then you already know that Red Bull Mobile was launched last night, and Faithless was the surprise act at the event. The invite only event was attended by a mixed bunch of celebrities. For the first 2 hours the VIP looked like a Miss SA reunion; with Claudia Henkel, Cindy Nell and Vanessa Carreira posing for pictures together. Then the Hip Hop heads, techno geeks, TV and radio personalities arrived.

The Beat Bangaz, Goldfish and Black Coffee warmed up the crowd but Faithless made the party hot. The launch was held at the Turbine Hall in Newtown, it’s a great venue which worked well with the installations and projectors that decorated the space. And I think Jozi is getting tired of attending events at Randlords, it’s a great club with a scenic view of our sky scrapper city but it’s over used.

I commend Red Bull and Cell C for throwing such a memorable party, it was almost perfect. The only thing missing was a rent a crowd/ party starters, most of the guests were too pretentious to dance and kept hogging the bar. Just before 10, some of the organisers walked around telling the guests that they can and should invite their friends to come join the party. I think they could sense the lack of ambiance.

P.S. I’m suffering from Red Bull overload, I’m about to shut down
