Yay its almost Christmas, I bought a tree today. Stella McCartney switched on the Christmas lights in London last night to the sounds of the Mighty Boosh boys in drag. Yup it’s that crazy festive thing all over the place. Feeling super festive myself as I have just been appointed as editor of Marie Claire SA. Yay! I am so excited and thrilled and honored and, and, and….. But more on all of this later.

Alert the sprockets and the minimes, Stella McCartney for Gap kids is up and running in the playground. It’s likely to lead to mass starvation as big girls everywhere try to justify purchases in the little girl’s section. Very dangerous I am sure.
Damn I realise I am having a retail sort of day, must break this shopping run.

Apparently I missed this boys birthday yesterday – aaah – happy birthday young man. I am shocked that Zach Ephron is on Time magazine’s top 100 most influential people in the world list thing – What are they thinking when Rob is batting in the same market? Here is the link to Stella McCartney’s entry on the list, written by BFF Gwyneth Paltrow … tres sweet in a nuaseating way!

So very warm and temperate is it in NYC that I have been riding a bike up and down the Hudson river bike path, it traverses all of Manhattan. Just when you get to the Chelsea Piers a huge space with icerinks, and climbing walls etc etc a girl of my bent should veer off the bike path, as tempting as it is on a spring day, and take to the delights of Chelsea and the Village. West 14th street holds many charms not least the plastic and toy dinosaur filled windows of Stella McCartney where I spotted the – to my mind – perfect cycling outfit the silk short jump suity thing you see above. The British invasion continues along the street with a suitably bright Mathew Williamson store and the original uber store of the neighborhood – Jeffrey- which heralded the extreme onset of cool in this neck of the woods.

An observation – many, many Manhattan girls are channeling Ms Stella all over town in outfits very much like this one.

Happy Birthday Alexander McQueen
Stella McCartney looked great at the party in her velvet harem pant suit.

Not only did she get a cracking front row at Paris Fashion week but also the kudos that go with having arrived – both as a designer and as an embodiment of an aesthetic that speaks to our time. The PETA endorsement works for me too.
