That would be James Brown – Kate’s stylist-(who is the latest in a slew of quasi celebrities or celebrities by association) to get a reality show. This one is largely about opening his new salon and Kate’s approach to ageing. This, being a subject close to every girl’s temple and neckline, is sure to make compelling viewing. After all she has six covers this month but apparently an entirely au naturel approach to the onset of age .
Read the article in The Times - fascinating not least because of our youth obsessive culture. I like how Kate’s girlfriends come out in support of her right to age.
” In among the gossipy whirl, you don’t have to look very hard to find supporters who are having none of it. “Of course Kate’s got older, she’s 35! She’s not a 20-year-old model any more,” says her friend the PR Fran Cutler, 46. “It’s a witch-hunt,” says Lulu Kennedy, 39, of Fashion East. “What’s she done to deserve it? They’re just jealous.” “The thing with Kate is,” sighs Serena Rees, 41, co-founder of Agent Provocateur, “it’s been like that her whole career. First she’s too thin, then she smokes too much, now she’s getting older. What’s she gonna do? Start doing ridiculous stuff to her face? She’s beautiful and always will be, whether she’s got wrinkles or not.”

Loved this body con ensemble Kate wore to the Miu Miu show. And absolutely adored the show itself – it’s all about transparency – clearly a backlash to the lack of it in the financial markets.

Love Kate’s hat, and shorts and sweet Chinese blazer as seen at the Topshop show at London Fashion Week

Hilary Knight much loved illustrator of Eloise has taken to blogging – Hilary Knight’s Sketchbook begins with the delights of Ms Grace Jones and her inimitable derriere. Another bottom making the news today is that of La Moss. The Times tells us how to quite literally get it.Read this if only to see the amusing comments the article generated.

The Wellie of choice at Glastonbury was a limited edition Jimmy Choo version for classic Wellie brand – Hunter. Here is Pixie Geldoff with Henry Holland sporting a pair which has been put through its muddy paces. Puts me in mind of the ‘glamping’ shoot with Kate Moss….Oppikoppie goers take note – you have ample warning to glamp it up.

I just read this brilliantly written piece in The Atlantic by Benjamin Schwarz the literary editor, “Fashion in Dark Times“. He writes “During the fashion boom that began in the 1980s, the relationship between fashion and its customers was the same as the one between art and its rich, often unlovely patrons: all that money sloshing around led to excessive consumption, but it also created a fertile soil in which works of beauty and integrity could develop. Last year that boom ended with breathtaking rapidity and finality. Luckily, a contingent of people at the heart of American fashion has for years been readying for post-crash style.”
I thought this inscrutable image of Kate Moss modelling her new collection for Top Shop is an apt representation of post crash style, in as much as she so aptly represented pre crash style. Happy reading.

I adore the Metropolitan Museum of Art particularly when its putting on a good show…
Here are a whole lot of people who stuck to the costume insitute gala’s theme “The model as muse” religiously…

I’m off to the US for a small holiday. Now whilst I have particular fondness for many fine American labels and stores, I find I am rather thrilled at the fact that Topshop has finally thrown open its doors in New York City – yay! I will report back on finer details as and when I get there, but I have noticed that the Topshop ad campaign state side is quite different to the one in the UK – the images are a lot more clean cut (think Ralph Lauren)- interesting.

( BTW that’s Kate at the opening in NYC)

I am quite loving the slightly skanky quality of the leopard print coat Ms Moss was sporting last night. It reminds me of Lilly Allen’s version. Apparently Kate was later accosted by a crazed fan who wanted a piece of the spotty action or just the coat…

This is just the thing to make you giggle with glee on a Monday morning. Apparently its all over between Marianne Faithfull and Kate Moss . Marion says Kate is being just a little too faithful. Is Kate cannibalising her style and sucking the life blood from her iconic look? I don’t know but imitation is clearly not the sincerest form of flattery then. Take note ladies your older BFF may not necessarily be the wiser one in the closet relationship.
