THE LATE YVES SAINT LAURENT

Reports confirm that one of the world’s most recognisable luxury brands Yves Saint Laurent will soon be undergoing a name change, thanks to Hedi Slimane, the man charged with taking YSL into the future. The brand will now be known as simply ‘Saint Laurent Paris’, but the logo will remain the same.

Slimane joined the iconic label in March as its creative director. He was previously head of its menswear division before he joined Dior in the same position. His appointment- and return to YSL- earlier this year followed the sudden resignation of Stefano Pilati who left after seven years at the helm.  A name change is reportedly just the beginning of what is said to be a major facelift that Slimane is planning in order to reinvigorate the brand founded by the late Yves Saint Laurent back in 1962.
