Vogue.co.uk reports that supermodel Naomi Campbell will soon play mentor to aspirant models in a new show with a format similar to Tyra Banks’ ‘Next Top Model’. The US show titled ‘The Face’ is being produced by NBC Universal who are also responsible for ‘The Voice’. More supermodels whose names are yet to be announced will also be part of the show.

Meanwhile, Tyra Banks has reportedly dropped Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel and J Alexander from ‘America’s Next Top Model’ in a bid to spice things up. It’s a cut throat business indeed!

Great… just what we need… one more copycat reality show. Well, at least it’s Naomi Campbell running it and not Dr Phil.

Tyra Banks needs to watch out for upcoming shows that would challenge her reality modeling show, not only Naomi Campbell’s The Face, but new ones of similar format. Even though it has not shown yet (the pilot show will start next year in February), but it is gaining some news now. From the makers of The Voice, it will have a similar format as The Voice, and more drama from the looks of it. One of my guy friends digs one of the coaches, Karolina Kurkova and he says that he would watch it from time to time, but not religiously. He only has the eyes for Karolina, not Naomi. I can’t wait for February 2013.

Why not? Television needs new ideas as much as fashion needs new designs. Same concept, different design, I’m sure we all own more than one watch. If Naomi wants to take Tyra’s old show and give it a little shake, I’d definitely want to check it out! It’s not like she doesn’t have the experience, I am sure there will be something bigger and better, and it’s true what they say, it’s a cutthroat business!
