Day Two of Fashion Week and the morning session was a great treat for any Urban or Woolworths buyers. Silver Spoon and Non European were the highlights maybe because they reminded me of Trenery and Country Road, but their collections would look perfect between the two brands.
Silver Spoon’s designer Stephanie Beyers is from Port Elizabeth and the inspiration for her summer collection was definitely the beach and the 1970’s. There were floral’s, peach, beach sand brown, white, bows and everything else you would associate with the beach. If you’re in Joburg find her clothes at Just in 44 Stanley but most of her stuff is found in small boutiques along the garden route.
Non-European’s collection, designed by Tarien Malherbe was about girly basics. With inspiration from every decade, the collection had neon yellows/green (80s!), purple, grey and peach. Peach and Grey seemed to be the standout colours for summer. The bows on every model just completed the look. Unfortunately she’s still only based in Stellenbosch so no stockists in Joburg yet!
