I promise not to touch on this lady ever again (unless she continues to prevaricate and lie about her sartorial expenses – although who cares when she is back in Alaska anyway?)
But I have just read the following enlightening paragraphs in the New York Times and I had to share –
“On Wednesday, two top McCain campaign advisers said that the clothing purchases for Ms. Palin and her family were a particular source of outrage for them. As they portrayed it, Ms. Palin had been advised by Nicolle Wallace, a senior McCain aide, that she should buy three new suits for the Republican National Convention in St. Paul in September and three additional suits for the fall campaign. The budget for the clothes was anticipated to be from $20,000 to $25,000, the officials said.
Instead, in a public relations debacle undermining Ms. Palin’s image as an everywoman “hockey mom,” bills came in to the Republican National Committee for about $150,000, including charges of $75,062 at Neiman Marcus and $49,425 at Saks Fifth Avenue. The bills included clothing for Ms. Palin’s family and purchases of shoes, luggage and jewelry, the advisers said.
The advisers described the McCain campaign as incredulous about the shopping spree and said Republican National Committee lawyers were likely to go to Alaska to conduct an inventory and try to account for all that was spent.
Ms. Palin has defended her wardrobe as the idea of the Republican National Committee and said that she would give it back.
“Those clothes, they are not my property,” she said. “Just like the lighting and the staging and everything else that the R.N.C. purchased.” ”
It sounds a lot like some other president who never had sexual relations or inhaled or whatever….
I just know that I am one relieved girl that Ms Palin’s presidential wardrobe aspirations have been momentarily deferred.

Must be a slow news day where the grapevine with roots with nameless pions becomes worthy of a headline. What is more shocking is that we have a president elect who has done nothing of worth during his stint in congress except follow the Democrats like a good little lamb. Not only that, our enemies view Obama as intimidating as a lamb. God pray that He protects us from further terrorist attacks on our soil because it won’t because of Obama intimidating our foes.
Sad with the financial woes facing so many people that this aergvgtt/ would have the gall to allow this much money to be spent for clothing. And dang what about the additional $$$ for the hair stylist make-up artist, what almost another $ 35,000.
Maybe Todd and kids should have stayed hom e and been in school. We did not need to see them, what did they do other than spend $$$.
Hmm sounds a lot like the fraud the Palin’s have done in Alaska, trips, hotels and the like for the family when not on State business. Plus the phoney expense reports when not at the Governors Mansion.
Nor reported on Tax returns, which by the way indicates the potential of fraud. Hmmmmmmm
Sangjmoon, u are an idiot. Guess he should just go bomb everyone who has oil. Maybe start a war so **** cheney can make millions. I pray the we are not attacked by terrorist, but if it does happen, hopefully they will bomb your dumb ***.
obama can make bill or strategies to prevent terrorist attack. if you want him to “protect” us you should go sign up for the military sangjmoon and take the oders from our new commander and chief and start the protecting…..what again did palin do for america…NOTHING!!!!
While I think it is funny that the “hockey mom” needed all these fancy clothes for herself and her family, I don’t really care that much. As long as she pays the appropriate taxes on them as additional income. As well as the travel expenses she charged to the state of Alaska for her family.
People, people, let it go; Do I sense a bit of reverse chauvinism? All this shows is now grossly mismanaged McCain’s campaign was. A person like Palin should have received designer clothing free of charge like Hillary Clinton does (see CBS article http://www.cbsnews.com/stories.....9410.shtml
Famous political fashion designers of the year, Susanna Chung Forest (Susanna Beverly Hills), states that “…it would be unusual for a candidate as famous as Sarah Palin to need to buy clothes.” She designed Hillary Clinton’s designer pantsuits.
The fact that the RNC and McCain’s aides spent money on what could have been an exchange for free advertising is the true indication of why McCain lost. Hillary’s stage cloths estimated at $6.5K each multiplied by 24 clearly exceed $150K. While the left is still obviously furious about Palin being a pro-life woman, the outrage among Republicans remains the stupidity and unclear economic message spewed by the McCain campain.

November 6, 2008 at 9:52 pmWhat’s the big deal? $150k on clothes seems to be a small price to pay for everything they’ve put her family through.
Remember that the young child is really not Sarah’s, it’s her daughter’s baby!
Remember that the boy that knocked up the daughter is being FORCED to get married.
I suppose you’d be happy seeing the Palin clan on stage wearing their usual jeans and t-shirts?
They probably should have spent $150k on magazine subscriptions – remember that she reads them all!
