Thought I should do one final thing from SA Fashion week – The Tropika@Play Style Wars was a hugely fun intervention.
Basically it was an instant fashion design battle, which challenged eight of South Africa’s top designers to create outfits out of recycled materials in less than five minutes. This year’s battle, was won by StrangeLove’s Ziemek Pater and Carlo Gibson.
StrangeLove will be jetting off to the New York and Paris Fashion Weeks and will receive R50 000 to put towards their beach-to-club-wear Tropika@Play label, which will be viewed for the first time at SA Fashion Week 2009.

Apparently the lovely model’s career was also boosted by this gig and she has been headhunted by a label in NYC.
