I just had to post a link to this beautiful shoot by my friend Kerstin Esser for Elle Decor of the lovely Sue Pam Grant’s work, house and studio. What a very multidisciplinary gal is that Sue -Pam Grant?
If you have not been to see it I have it on good authority that you must go see CoupĂ© – a play she has directed on right now at The Market Theatre. And her artwork always has some relation to sartorial concerns so a girl after our frock hearts too….

Ok apparently I got some of yesterday’s Net-A-Porter post slightly wrong – the show we got to see at 18.30 SA time was not a live feed but a preview which had been shot on June 22 after the menswear collection… Still we gals on the net got to see elements of the new collection in real time and if some of us have managed to remain unaffected by the general insane financial meltdown -even made a few timely purchases. Timely because the markets have gone into freefall today post the non US senate bail out – so it was a case of spending your pennies whilst you may. And also because its a full two months before these items will make it onto the shelves anywhere…. Read More…

I was reading a Times story about what constitutes the ideal woman – apparently laughing at their jokes, a big nose and gratitude – whatever! – but there was a very amusing retort by Camilla Long about the perfect man. She was sent off to interview hot French model Patrick Petitjean
he is the new face of the Prada campaign – he also doubles up as a bearded god of the sea. I am not sure I am loving the whole Poseidon effect – but I am open to persuasion.
You will have to forgive me – now that I have started with the delectable Mr Paul Newman I find myself powerless in the face of extreme nostalgia. You may have realised that I have a Greek thing going, so here is my style icon Melina Merkouri with my musical icon Manos Hadjidakis ( I am playing his music on the piano at present – pretty badly I might add) doing Kyr Andoni. It’s a song about a delightfully mad man in Athens who communes with children more than his adult contemporaries, as they all live quite comfortably in the land of dreams. It was shot for French TV – hence the sexy French translation… this is just lovely in that fabulous 1950′s way and it is Paris Fashion week so here’s my ode to nostalgia and romance …

I just had to post this pic of Grant Van Den Berg at the polo at Inanda recently. He makes bespoke suits and shirts – his company is called Frank Bespoke. Talk about living your brand… I like the way he is doing the whole Blow-up thing and I quite fancy his Royal Enfield bike too
