If “steampunk” is victorian-themed science fiction, what would 50s-era SF be? “Postwarpunk”? Maybe Jazzpunk or “Screwballpunk”? This video isn’t very punk though. I suppose “retro” has it covered. Regardless, 1950s Ghostbusters is 54 flavours of awesome.

Considering Dan Aykroyd’s concept owes a lot to Bob Hope, Abbott and Costello, and Lewis and Martin comedies of the 40s and 50s, it is not that big of a stretch to speculate.
