Two days of partying on the Paardeberg were bought to a rude conclusion by the national crimewave which is now lapping the previously peaceful wine appellation north of Cape Town. Party #1 was Adi Badenhorst’s oesaf celebration one Friday night last month followed by the birthday party of Badenhorst Family Vineyards assistant winemaker Jasper Wickens on Saturday – the best joll according to Partyberg insiders “as the crowd was younger.” The venue was a bucolic clump of trees on the Partyberg in which Dutch superstar Stef Bos, Antwerp’s answer to Die Antwoord, got married a couple of years ago.

Strobe lights, an amp and giant speakers were hired but when the Partybergers returned after a refill run to Adi’s cellar, some partypoopers had stolen the amp and lights, leaving the giant speakers behind to mock Partygoers like so many monolithic statues on Easter Island. Anyway, amplified tunes oftenot, the Jasper joll continued until 6am but the following week the birthday boy had to face the music and explain the missing equipment to the hire company.

Stef Bos Antwerp’s answer to Die Antwoord? You must be crazy! Just show how uninformed you are. Bos’s music is very bland compared to Die Antwoord. Hell, you journo’s can be so stupid.
