Shame Marc

Once again you've misunderstood the posting. The whole point is that people prefer to congratulate Pendock in private as a public message might invite retribution in a sighted guide...

Stop making a cult of yourself!

Making a cult of yourself ?
I see you claim that your open letter has assumed cult status, and that your e-mail in-box is overflowing with hearty congrats.
Yet the original post only got 4 comments, one of which is cut-and-paste by yourself and another has been removed (censored?).
Why this silence on your blog comments page? Do you think everyone is scared of you making a cult of yourself in public?

Hi Neil.

It's not just about tastings and judges' alignments.

It is also about 'learned' articles. How can Joe P judge the value of an article when he doesn't know who is actually paying the piper ? How much of the incisive comment is actually heavily disguised advertorial ?

Hi Peter

Nope, I'm not WC.

If the tastings are blind, what does it matter whose hand is in whose pocket? The problem comes with sighted tourneys and I've ventilated on this extensively.

I don't think folk who gripe as much as old lady vinegar should garner "Wine Legend" status - especially when the Legends sport the league of Prof. Piet Gossard, Spatz Sperling and some damn fine other gentle folk - some few woman in there as well Norma and Phyllis - who have really tangibly contributed to the industry.
A missappointment like that would surely tarnish the brand value and could like destroy the visually impaired wine awards.

I also find it funny that the five star cream doesn't float to the top when the cats can't see the bottles or maybe the double thick version doesn't float too well.

Ah go on with you there. Is WC not your alter ego ?

(I thought an interlocutor was a knitting machine cross-stitch, just shows how little I know.)

Nevertheless, how about that break-down of the wine industry players that I requested over on Grape. Who judges what, who has their hand in which pocket etc. It would be a most entertaining read for Joe Public. No-one seems to be rising to the bait.
