Yesterday the UN adopted a resolution that July the 18th, Madiba’s birth date, will be “Nelson Mandela International Day”.

Sapa reports that General Assembly President Ali Treki said that by adopting the resolution the international community was expressing its appreciation for “a great man” who suffered for the sake of people everywhere.

We like this. Especially if it translates into another holiday.
