In the short preview I wrote for the paper on Tuesday, I said that these diamonds could help fund the reconstruction of the failing state. I said the diamonds earn about $2.5 million per week. In fact the earnings are close to $1.2 billion a year (according to the researcher of the documentary), which works out to $23 076 923.1 a week! So sorry about that rather large mistake.

that 1.2 billion USD doesn’t seem right in the light of the fact that total world production revenue at minehead is under 10 billion USD Otherwise Zim would be in the top two or three producers whereas it is minor
