
Lily Allen, the 24-year-old singer, has become the face of the National Portrait Gallery as part of a new marketing campaign. A portrait by Nadav Kander is being used for the NPG’s new poster campaign, which encourages people to “Take Another Look” at the Gallery. I am sure there are some who saying that the gallery – such a fine institution – is dumbing down by this bit of celebrity flirting. I think it’s fun. So is this lovely gallery.
The Take Another Look campaign looks at a surprising detail about a celebrity. In Lily’s case, the “surprising” detail is that she used to be a florist when her music career took off in 2006.
