It’s been my first day back at ‘school’. I had a lovely week-long holiday at home hanging out with friends and family doing not very much. I’ve not watched the news, read the papers, listened to the radio in days. So when I woke up way too early to get little bodies to school on time I felt truly down. I had to hide it from my babies – don’t want to ruin their enthusiasm for school. I arrived late at work (usual for a Wednesday) rushed through my work and got my pages done and dusted.
And now, with work done, I’ve been looking about the web, and found the lovely story about Susan Boyle which I, of course, also missed. I’ve just watched her performance at the Britain’s Got Talent competition. What a beautiful and suprising performance. We are prejudiced. She has beaten expectations and perceptions. But why shouldn’t a dowdy sweet 48-year-old not knock our socks off with her voice? Whatever, it’s lovely that an unemployed middle aged woman has surprised not only herself but the world.
The Sun reports ” how the singer, who admits she has “never been kissed”, is now in demand for interviews and performances in the US and even Australia. Talent guru Simon Cowell is lining up a record deal in a bid to repeat the success of opera star Paul Potts, who won the first series of Britain’s Got Talent.”
Thanks Susan, you’ve made my day.
