McCain/Palin is in trouble in the polls. But, even as her chances of becoming Vice President nosedive, the New York Times reports that her popularity with male audiences seems to be rising. Now one sale? “Proud to be voting for a hot chick!” buttons.

She’s also turning out to be a better sport than you might have guessed: last night she appeared with Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live  (But she still didn’t take any questions. Nor did she appear to talk to Tina. Meeeoww.)

Mark Wahlburg and Alec Baldwin appeared, with Baldwin doing a hammy job of mistaking Palin for Fey and saying some nasty things about the governor. And after “realising” that she was the real Palin, he says “You are way hotter in person.”
