Re: Erin’s comment dated October 3rd: I lived in Alaska for over 30-years and I can assure you that $500,000 homes are far more common in a state where the average cost of a gallon of milk far and away exceeds the cost of a gallon of milk. The cost of living in AK has been pegged anywhere from 125% to 150% higher than the nation as a whole. Virtually everything consumed in the state, including refined petrochemicals has to be imported. And don’t forget, the Palins have lived in Wasilla all their lives and while they just built this home in 2002, they may have had the land for much longer, perhaps acquiring it when it was relatively much less expensive. When I left AK in 2000, the state was just coming out of one of its worst economic hangovers. Consider this: The Anchorage home I sold for $135,000 has nearly doubled in value. So give the Palins their due: they’ve worked hard for what they have and what the have now may not qualify them as ‘middle class’, but, so what?

Looks middle Class to me an I’m in NC. Most homes here for middle class run 1 million and up. Her home would start around 1.5 million plus more with the land and lake would go higher.

She has nothing more than anyone else who has not worked hard all their lives. Cars, plane, home on a lake and kids.

Down South where most of my family live, we live on the lakes with jet skies, boats, fishing boats, float planes and can see for miles. That’s middle Class.

It’s called Working for what you have.

Yep, the Barricuda is very motivated. She gives the State 18 months of a four year term. She is an absolute joke and a poor excuse for a human being.

and how much time did obama give of his lst term as senator? Not 18 months, he was running for president as soon as he got elected into the senate. So I guess he is a poor excuse of a human being if that is how you are rating people. And don’t even get me started on his lst 7 months, flying around the globe, flying around the states still campaigning…good thing he has got a handle on this recession, ya think? What a joke. Wait until taxes eat up your paycheck unless your an illegal??

leave her alone. its people like the one who wrote this article, and the ones judging her that forced her to leave office. why represent and defend people who can do nothing but complain about her? i live in wasilla, right across the highway from her, and i say leave her and us out of all your pathetic attempts at making yourselves feel YOU could have done what she has in her short political career. I would elect her in a second, she has been and has stayed a person ‘of’ the people, and that is what you all dont like. well i would take her over any of the other government puppets, yes sir no sir bureaucratical ****. do you all realize this could have been the start of the people getting back thier government? how are we ever going to do that if ya’ll keep electing the weaklings who obey the behind the scenes decision makers? People like Bush and Obama, are follow the leader hypocritical nobodys. As nobody as you think Our Palin is.

H have just finished reading her book “Going Rogue”. Everyone of you should read it and find out what an intelligent lady she is. The media reall abused her and they should be ashamed. Especially Katie Curick!

I wouldn’t hesitate a minute if she ran for President. I would vote for her right away! She could turn this abortion around!
She has the right faith for this country like she has for Alaska. I have also read the other book “The Persecution of Sarah Palin”. It is very good as well. She has a lovely family and lifesty. She’s “no airhead” as she has portrayed. Go Girl Go! I love your style.

The right faith for this country??? We all still remember that our constitution calls for a clear seperation of church and state right? Religion/faith has no place in politics! Because of those who don’t remember that key piece of our American Constitution our country is screwed in the long run!

I read her book too. wonderful book. wonderful person.
i could not believe the persecution they went through over a preganant unmarried teenage daughter. i guess that has never happened before. But when Clinton was doing his thing with Monica DURING his term as president IN THE WHITEHOUSE all we heard was everyone is entitled to a personal life and nobody is perfect. whatever. he made a complete joke out of our whole country AND got re-elected!! that blew me away. just like Kennedy – look at all of the corruption he was part of such as drowning Mary Jo and not even calling the police until the next day. and people just kept voting him back in. doesn’t anyone have any morals at all anymore? He’s a Kennedy, he can do whatever he wants.
When i heard about Sarah and that she had sold the “jet” i was totally impressed. I thought finally someone with some common sense. a real person. someone who has actually had to work for a living. someone who identifies with the working class.

Movie stars and welfare recipients are the reason Obama got elected. yes, his race probably had something to do with it too. every single person looking for a handout made it to the poles.

but if you look at the popular vote and the states actually won by McCain and Palin, Obama was NOT the winner. we need to get rid of the electoral college. there is no need for it any more. we need to get term limitations into place. personally i’m voting AGAINST every incumbent in EVERY election from now on. WE the people need to decide if all of those politicians get a raise, man i would LOVE to give myself a raise here where i work. we need to get rid of all of those “special” retirement plans they have. they can put money away and count on social security just as we do. i bet if they had to do that social security would be in a lot better shape. we don’t have a royal family in America, we have a royal government!!

It’s time to turn it around.

If Sarah runs again, and i cannot think of one reason why she would even want to after what she has gone through, she’s got MY vote!!!
