The tragedy about the Sarah Palins in our society and government isn’t that “We can’t control what our children do,” it’s that they absolutely want to control what my children do.

The lesson that free-thinking humans should take from the Palin morality play is this: It is always the worst offenders who despise us for their failings and mistakes.

Why isn’t anyone pointing out that Palin was a leader in an independent party that was trying to get Alaska to secede from the Union?

When Mrs. Obama said she was proud of her country for the first time, the republicans jumped all over that questioning her loyalty as an amercian. Sheeeet this gal is trying to divide the United States and no one says a word, just focus on the kid…believe me there is a lot more to focus on that is far more damaging and everyone is ignoring the more important things.

If this youg girl was one of my children and I got wind of this statement I believe you would be hard pressed to keep me from beating the living cr** out of him. His parents should be taking him aside and explaining that if you play you must pay.

My pesonal opinion is that she would be better off with out him! She can find a young man that would not take advantage of her and would value her. Who wants to stuck with a LOSER such as him. She does not need him to validate what has happened.

Her parents should hold their head high she has chosen LIFE for her child. I aplaud her!

You are all taking this Levi thing out of proportion. Have any of you raised teenagers? Besides that they are by nature at that age prone to do things that are out of character and stupid. They are also just plain stupid sometimes and say/make mistakes. It is not considered rape unless the girl is 16 or under and of course it is not consensual. If you think that he should be charged just because he is one year older than her you are out of touch with reality. More than half of couples in our country are different ages. As for picking tabloid and sensational news to get your information, yes Palin was an independent but you should get your facts straight before for an opinion and making yourself sound just like the way you are portraying Levi. If we were to have had all of the technology and media savvy people around when we were teenagers we would have all probably been in the same boat as Levi at some point or another.

Levi is a redneck so are a lot of other KKK mentality folks. White bigot folks from Alaska attacking Blacks, especially Harvard educated Blacks from Kansas and Hawaii is rare. It may be a first. Levi sounds like a tough guy, “I kick your ***” according to his webpage (why do you think it was taken down?)or why was Sarah Palin’s speach at her church taken down when she told the crowd that the war in Iraq was God’s will or that the proposed Alaskan pipeline to the US was god’s will. Folks if you what a all out religious nutt near the White House, she’s your gal. Oh, did I mention her admited drug use and her sons, her husbands DUI or political involvement with a polital party that wants to break away from the US and her current “trooper gate” problems. Go move John you have killed any change you had.

Oh, for pity’s sake. I am 59 and have raised two teenage boys. They are all idiots at 17, soft-hearted and belligerent in turn. My guess is that stuff about being a *** redneck is just a lot of bravado.

And stealing salmon out of season?? What a terrible crime!!

And for an eighteen year old boy to have a seventeen year old girl friend?? What an awful unusual thing to happen!!

I’m all for *** education—but it’s just like driver’s education–it only works when it’s put to use. There’s a reason car rental companies are reluctant to rent to teenagers.

*** isn’t an area of life where human beings are fully rational, and adolescents are worse than most. Girls want to believe that they’ve been “swept away,” and boys don’t like to admit to the girl that they’ve been planning this all along. As for breaking
the emotional flow by stopping at a 7/11 for some protection….

Some teens of course are more thoughtful than others, but abstinence it not a bad strategy for people who have not reached the age of planning realistically for the future.

As for Levi, to me he seems like a normal kid who’s doing the best he can.

The hilarious thing is how people jump to defend this woman and the grand hypocrisy of telling others how to live or how their children should be educated “morally” while she can’t even keep the morals in her own home. If this would have been Barack Obama’s teenage daughter with a black panther boyfriend, you better believe the conservatives and their media channels would have been casting the first, second and 100th stone. The sad thing is, we should not be at all interested in this, but since the republican spin machine wants to conceal the facts and spend an entire convention bashing Obama instead of laying out a plan (the entire time hiding behind the American flag and preacher politics), the least we can do is pick apart this horrible decision and the party of deceit and entitlement!
