Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the ‘Most Powerful Actor and Actress in Hollywood’ according to The 2009 Guinness World Records, have donated two million dollars to help children affected by AIDS and tuberculosis in Ethiopia.
The donation will be used to create a centre, named after their adopted daughter, Zahara, to treat AIDS orphans and to develop a program to treat drug-resistant tuberculosis, the Global Health Committee said yesterday.
Jolie adopted Zahara, now 3 years old, from Ethiopia in July 2005. Brad Pitt said in a statement: “It is our hope that when Zahara is older, she will take responsibility for the clinic and continue its mission.”
Reuters reported that the Jolie-Pitt Foundation has also helped set up a similar clinic in 2006 in Cambodia that is named after their son Maddox.
“Our goal is to transfer the success we have had in Cambodia to Ethiopia where people are needlessly dying of tuberculosis, a curable disease, and HIV/AIDS, a treatable disease,” Jolie said.
Angelina and Brad were also in the news today for inspiring Jamie Oliver to adopt a baby.
He told the Sun:
“I live at home with three girls and I need a bit of testosterone. If I can’t produce a boy I will have to adopt one. I would consider it.”
He said that he and wife Jools, 34, have been inspired by A-list pals Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who have three adopted children among their six.

I am sure she is interested to work with local organizations that focuses on the same purpose of saving the lives of many incocent people from starvation and diseases like HIV/AIDS.

I hope they continue to help in Africa as they are doing so much good!
I am Precious Iroakazi of the university of Nigeria Nsukka.Leaving in a third world country were the healthcare facilities are quite poor,I think what this couple is doing is quite awesome. Also considering the amount involved,I think they should be highly commended and encouraged to do more instead of throwing away money irresponsibly like most of their colleagues do.They should also consider countries like Nigeria when giving out such gifts because here people die like chickens from such diseases.

I think that the work she does and the money that she gives is truly amazing the woman does have a heart of gold, and she does this with not wanting anything in return, I too support a non profit charity and try to do my bit, this organization has done such great for for kids, if you would like to see what I am talking about go see for yourself

What amazing woman she is, hope some movie personality fallow their good work, adopting is a good humanitarian work helping one kid to educate and giving them love and care. I like to adopt one, I only have one kid, starting from my own country, who are poor. I found out in this country they take good care of animals, like human being, then why not a child who need love and care. So I agree with Ms. Jolie, God Bless her for having a good heart and down to earth being. Love her, for her goodness. Praise her for sharing her wealth to the needy. We thank you Ms. Jolie. God, will bless you more in life and keep you safe on your trips and works.
