I am outraged.

Somebody has had the audacity to say that my son is less than perfect.

On my return from that little wet island up north, I wanted an update on my son from his playgroup. Oh, said his teacher, he hasn’t been the same boy this term. He is so assertive, he smothers his little friend, he won’t listen, he is pushy… He’s even had a temper tantrum! You need to discipline, she added.

I have been away for two weeks. He is two and a half. And I, his mother, think he is an angel.

Surely she’s heard of the terrible twos?
