The new DILDO boxing belt - check out the holes that have been punched through it
Now I’ve seen it all.
Several years ago there was the World Boxing Federation, but that closed down and was relaunched as the World Boxing Foundation.
Now some break-away World Boxing Foundation people, including South Africa’s Howard Goldberg, have formed the World Boxing Federation. It goes without saying that they’ll both be known as the WBF.
Sorry, but does boxing need another world sanctioning body? I think not.
A word of advice for those who are likely to get confused between the WBF and the, er, WBF, don’t worry – just think World Boxing Farce. In fact, if you get muddled about any of the alphabet organisations, start thinking World Boxing Asphyxiation (or WBA), World Boxing Congestion (WBC), World Boxing Overpopulation (WBO), and so on!
Then again, I should take advantage of the alphabet mess and start the David Isaacson Long Drop Organisation (the acronym would be DILDO). Just think – I’ll rewrite history, so move over Hank Armstrong and Manny Pacquiao. I’m going to be declared DILDO’s undefeated heavyweight, cruiserweight, light-heavyweight, super-middleweight, middleweight, junior-middleweight, welterweight and junior-welterweight champion of the world – all at the same time!
