Lehlohonolo Ledwaba is now a boxing trainer. Picture by Sydney Seshibedi
Here in South Africa – seemingly miles off the beaten boxing track that is leading Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto to their destiny in Las Vegas on November 14 – two local boxers who have fought these great warriors are offering different views on who will emerge victorious.
Lehlohonolo Ledwaba, who lost on a sixth-round TKO to Manny Pacquiao in 2001, and Lovemore Ndou, a points loser to Cotto in 2004, were present at a press conference on Tuesday ahead of a big tournament in Johannesburg this weekend.
Ledwaba, who has picked up some weight since hanging up his gloves after suffering a detached retina, is now working as a trainer in Bloemfontein – which means many weekend trips to visit his family at home in Johannesburg.
“Hands of Stone” Ledwaba, one of South Africa’s finest boxers of the past decade or so, is tipping Pacquiao to win, although he reckons it will be a tough encounter that is likely to go the distance.
“Manny’s in his prime, but he’s fighting a really tough guy. Manny doesn’t like fighting a boxer who likes attacking the body, and Cotto is good at that. I’d still say Manny will win, but he must stay on the outside. He can’t afford Cotto to get inside.”
But Ndou, who fought out of Australia for years although he’s now training in east Johannesburg with Harold Volbrecht (a welterweight contender in the 1980s), reckons Cotto will have the advantage. “I fought Cotto – he’s a strong, smart fighter. I don’t think it will be easy, but if I had to bet, I’d put my money on Cotto.”
Ndou, also a former sparring partner of Floyd Mayweather, said he had no doubt who would win if Pacman and “Money” ever got it on. “Mayweather will win with one hand behind his back.”
Ndou, the IBO welterweight champion, is scheduled to defend against Matthew Hatton, Ricky’s brother, on November 13, and he’s confident of keeping his belt. “He’s living off his brother’s name. He’s like a donkey in a horse race. You can feed him carrots and make him think he’s a race horse, but I’ll show that he’s just a donkey.”

manny is the best cuz hes pilipino and im prod to be pilipino,,,,
this is ken from seattle washington
proud to be pinoy
I wouldnt take tips from this guy hes never been in the ring with a WW……Pacs only advantage will be his footwork……Speed has never been a factor for Miguel Cotto…..Cotto has been fighting the bigger man since Pac was still campaigning at kiddie weight so again Pacs power will be no prob……..No one in the game throws more volumes of punches like Tony Margarito………So I am predicting a Cotto victory in round 10……..I also predict come Nov14 that the Philippines will be struck by more flooding……..But this will be floods of tears…….tears of sadness ha haaaaa
Another one bites the dust. the more you underestimate pacquiao, the more you’ll give him good fortune. we’ll see on fight night who will eat the dust. wheather both of you or me. haha
Hey…Mr. *** Floyd fan, you are predicting and talking without knowing. Come and watch on fight night, why and how the “PACIFIC STORM’ destroys the Puerto Rican bomber…
What an exaggeration! “mayweather will win against pac with one hand tied behind his back?????? What???? Ndou is so dumb and metaphorically blind…
NDOU – if ever Pacquiao/Mayweather materialize, just tell Money to have a third or fourth arm so he can parry some of those powerful bunches of punches coming from all direction that the Pacman will throw to him. No way he can win even by points because all he have to do then is to run or parry punches. No time for him to fight or hit back.
Ndou, also a former sparring partner of Floyd Mayweather, said he had no doubt who would win if Pacman and “Money” ever got it on. “Mayweather will win with one hand behind his back.”
am i to laugh now, ndou?
hahahahaha I can’t wait for this ndou dude to eat his words. floyd will ko pac with one hand? pac will break floyds rolling shoulder with continous punching power, so that gives him one hand to rely on, and I don’t think that’s gonna be devastating, he couldn’t even knockdown a bloated marquez with 2. hahahahahaha. cotto has a bigger chance to ko pac, but that’s not gonna happen this november. That flood on nov. 14 is no match to the pac-ific storm.
To Ndou, Ndoun’t Ndoubt Ndthe Pacman
ONd Ndovember 15 Ndyourgonna Ndeat Ndyour Ndwords
flyoyfan, you will eat your words by nov14 Manny will KO Cotto in 1st round. Read this thread again after the fight.
“Mayweather will win with one hand behind his back.”
Believe me, Mayweather will need all the hands he can get.
Ndou: If Pacman and Mayweather fought, ‘“Mayweather will win with one hand behind his back.”
Pac U!!!!!!!
Ndou you will be knockout by Mathew Hatton and he will make you swallow your mouth piece. Well even you tie your body along with Mayweather and fight Pacman… both of you will be laid to rest… for you will receive the right hook of Pacman and floyd will receive the left hook of Pacquiao….!btw Ndou you will need an extra hand to cover your body and ugly face!
Floyd will retire undefeated, he will never fight Manny. Floyd will only fight weighted down, fattened lightweights.
to floydfan…. manny will beat cotto in 9th round that’s for sure and if you are floyd fan you have to talk to your idol and fight pacman because pacman will kick his ***…. flood??? cotto’s blood will bleed like a flood of water on the fight night….
Tie one hand and still beat Pacquiao? N’dou is a boxer that is not in the proper state of sane mind. Maybe he got a head concussion or just maybe a product of malnourished brain due to famine.
Let’s take note that Mayweather already got 3 losses. 1 loss against Jose Luis Castillo, literally. Already 2 losses against Pacquiao: Against DeLa Hoya, Mayweather by split decision, while Pacquiao at 8th round TKO; against Hatton, Mayweather by 10th round KO, while Pacquiao at 2nd round KO(plus 2 KD in the 1st round.)
Hey, u are definitely right with your predictions. Even if PAC loses, I dont mind at all since he has fought with a legitimate welterweight. Unlike your IDOL, Mayweather, who ensures that there will be no tears in his eyes by picking small guys and even weighing more pounds than the limit. I suggest your idol to fight barrera and morales to ensure his victory again.
This says it all:
“Manny’s in his prime, but he’s fighting a really tough guy. Manny doesn’t like fighting a boxer who likes attacking the body, and Cotto is good at that. I’d still say Manny will win, but he must stay on the outside. He can’t afford Cotto to get inside.”

Lovemore ndou is not on his proper state of mind. Matthew Hatton will knock him down in 6. That is for sure!
I predict that the Pacman will win the fight inside the distance, depending on how much punishment Cotto is prepared to endure. Cotto is a good boxer-puncher, but he tends to get tired after round nine. And we all know that the Pacman never gets tired in a fight.
Ndou? who the hell is he? tie both hands of Manny Pacquiao and he will beat this *** out of Ndou! Though I Ndount Know him….
cotto will cry tear of blood once again and his fans will cry a river ahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Ledwaba looks like a fine trainer now.
Times fly like it was just yesterday for him and Pacquiao in that fight.
His pick is Pacquiao to win,i do feel that it will be ist round try but if doesn’t happen 4th round at the most for Manny to knock him out.
ndou is a jackass donkey! same with that floydfan suckass. matthew hatton will kick that jabroni *** back to africa. if pacman fought mayweather jr, pac will scramble his brain like his old man mayweather sr.
both of them had a brain on cracks..
hey floydfan, a lot of people died when we got flooded. theres nothing funny about that. and btw, manny won over hatton and floyd is going to be next to go down.
watch the video of Manny vs Cotto http://beta.matnoganon.com/200.....ull-video/

If I were Cotto, I’d give him the “El Gato.”
