This is incredible. Helen Zille appears to have one set of principles when it comes to Jacob Zuma and another set when it comes to a member of her party. Don’t believe me? Read on …

HELEN Zille on Jacob Zuma’s affair with Sonono Khoza:
“We cannot allow appeals to culture, especially when they are self-servingly distorted, to stop legitimate criticism of an elected leader who is accountable for his actions. Zuma can, and must, be called to account for private actions that have public consequences, particularly when those consequences are so profound.”

Helen Zille on Lennit Max’s alleged extra-marital affair with Belinda Petersen:
“An extra-marital affair between consenting adults in private is not a matter that can be regulated by a political party, the state or the media. If it does not have negative public consequences, such an affair is a private matter that is the concern of the participants, their families, their God and their church.”

Jacob Zuma’s sexual life is of great concern to HZ, She gets very fustrated if JZ goes around touching all the ladies except for her. Mind you JZ is amongst the very few that can still get it up at his age, and madam must be proberbly bored and missing some action.

She has always been emotional when it comes to JZ!!

1. Jacob Zuma admitted to having an affair. Lennit Max denies it.
2. Jacob Zuma had unprotected *** after he exhorted South Africans not to. He didn’t practice what he preached. There is no proof Max had unprotected *** and he has never exhorted South Africans not to.

Zille has accepted Max’s request for a leave of absence until the matter is resolved. Zuma never asked for a leave of absence.

So how is this double standards? A cheap shot, Mr Hartley. Please think before you post.

Nkosi, stop behaving like a randy schoolboy.

The difference between Lennit Max and Zuma is huge. Lennit Max is not the president of this country.
If the ANC leadership were to be sanctioned on bad behavior such as Max’s, then there would be no ANC leadership.

The difference is that the president of any democratic country is eligible BECAUSE he is beyond reproach, and this is how leaders should be chosen by their electorate.

It has never been about Zuma the person, but that as a person he does not qualify to his position and the responsibility that his position requires. It is Zuma who sets an example for others to follow and not some little two bit politician from the DA or even the ANC as is most often the case.

Lennit Max will never be president of the DA BECAUSE of his unclean history, and BECAUSE the DA values leaders of utmost quality.

The contradiction is there for small minded people only. We cannot all be perfectly moral, but we can expect a modicum of propriety from a head of state and president. Instead, we get charges of rape that ends in admitting unbecoming and unsafe behaviour with an HIV positive young woman; unresolved charges of corruption and a general poor performance as president, – but a killer with the ladies. Wow, what a man.

Ray, Zille and all of us should have different sets of principles for the president of our country. Surely we should expect more from Zuma as president that we can expect from any old Joe citizen or Peter politician.
In the whole of the DA, could they only come up with one man with a checkered past. Let us do the same with the ANC and see the mess that results.
There is no contradiction. Really Ray, you should aim your blog a little higher.

Zille stuffed up big time here. Lennit’s political ladder has run out of rungs and Zille must swallow this and move on.

Suspicion is on Max as he has had previous women accuse him before of the same behaviour.

Strange that the DA would let him have paid leave of absence. Free paid holiday for Max.

Rather no pay while investigation takes place and then if proven not guilty, have his salary back payed for the period. This reward that politicians give themselves for criminal behavior is criminal in itself.

It is obvious that our politicians are incapable of defeating criminality in this country as their moral eyesight seems so darkened that they do not see the wrong of paying a suspected official before his name has been cleared. An public official has to be judged far more severely for suspected criminal behaviour than a normal member of the public, as his illegal actions have much wider negative consequences.

Like all opposition parties, their stance is determined by what the ruling party does so if the ANC says the sun is yellow the DA would have to dissagree and say no its orange. So yes double standards do apply. At least she did not go Julius on us.

On the contrary Pavs, the DA holds the moral highground close to 100% of the time and on all issues, which leaves the ANC on the back foot and opposing the DA with negative actions and policies.

I think the point is that JZ got this chick pregnant – ie. he had unsafe *** which speaks to the “profound circumstances” which HZ referred to being that JZ is a role model for the youth. Also, there is clear evidence of JZ’s actions and the actions of this Max dude are still only alleged. U journalists can quote out of context all you like but it doesn’t change the facts mate…
