This week Bill Gates pulled off something that few other – even visiting heads of state – have failed to achieve: A meeting with both President Zuma and his deputy, Kgalema Motlanthe.
This from the official statement:
“President Zuma and Mr Gates discussed the need to scale up the prevention of HIV and AIDS, especially after the announcements made by the President on World AIDS Day.”
“Amongst the issues discussed was the importance of the prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of the HI virus as well as the need to look at male circumcision as a means of prevention.”
Phew. No mention of South African endorsement for Vista …

They could/should have discussed on how Microsoft could help in narrowing the technological gap between us & the US.Or better still the Bill & Belinda Gates Foundation could be ,via the patron be asked to fight poverty & homelesness in Africa or South Africa only ,for a start.
