THE sentencing to life in prison of the murderers of Lucky Dube is to be welcomed.
Justice has been done and — by the standards set by South African courts — it has been done quickly.
S’fiso Mhlanga, Ludwa Gxowa and Mbuti Mabe, who shot Dube dead in cold blood, received a further 18 years each for hijacking of will hopefully spend the rest of their lives behind bars.
The fact that they said in their defence that they believed they were killing a Nigerian, is evidence of how callous they were.
The police and the prosecution are to be commended for putting them behind bars.
