TODAY The Times publishes the headline “The Greatest” to describe the current Proteas cricket team following their sensational series win over Australia.
The title is deserved because of the comprehensive nature of the victory — by eight wickets. But also because it was achieved away from home at the end of a long tour to the country rated number one in the world.
And it came on the back of the incredible test series victory earlier this month.
Australia are building a new side after the departure of Shane Warne, Glen McGrath and Matthew Hayden. But it has taken mental strength, guts and skill to win down under.
