I think its stupi9d that he papers blame them, they didn’t make him kill the other boy or hurt the others, it was his fault. I listen to slipknot and yet i dont feel in anyway inclined to kill any one and im sure there are many more like me out there. The tabloids are stupid, they blow everthing out of proportion.

Slipknot are not wearing the masks to try and look ‘scary’. The masks give them the ability to perform the music that they do. Most of them hate wearing the masks because they smell bad, are hot on stage so in turn it fuels the music and their performance. Slipknot’s songs deal with real life and real emotions but most people are superficial and do not look closer at things. Those kind of people see negativity coming from slipknot’s songs. The fans see a positive message about how to face the truth about life and be able to deal with it. Corey the singer once said he would rather kids get rid of their frustration and anger at their gigs instead of going out into the world and doing something like what has happened. These kid’s problems result from society not from music.

And to those of you who think the band is ‘pathetic’:

i can’t believe “this” is being blamed for being violent try watching some of the norwegian black metal videos out there. I know 12 year olds that listen to slipknot. Don’t blame musicians for people who’s minds are warped. you would think if someone focused on slipknot that much they might pick up on the lighter parts of the songs.

People should stop taking certain aspects of the group and use it against them. The have a lot of positive meaningful and some very intellectual words and phrases in their songs which many average people never will understand.People will always fear what they dont understand and/or can not relate too.

Judging by IR’s poor grammar and diction it seems he adheres to the principal of it taking one to know one. While I’m neither a Satanist, nor a Slipknot fan; it’s clear that he’s been filled to the brim with stereotypes about kids wearing black and listening to ‘angry’ music, which is not so much Satanism as it is Reverse Christianity. well well well….. i love metal in all forms. ive been listening to slipknot since since they came out in 1999. i am now 23. lets all blame the music that nobody knows. because the majority of the country dont listen to the music makes it easy to point to….. what about hip hop and the killings, rapes and drugs that plays a part in. kids walking around with NY caps to the sides, drugs and knives in their pockets. rave and the drug scene surrounding it. Corey Taylor for one has had dark times, but he is no satanist. his music reflects the struggles he has overcome over time…… this narrow mindedness needs to end.

hey people, Im a 16year old kid in a small christian town, im a heavy slipknot fan!! and im the only person in my school that listens to slipknot, i have had teachers, my mom my girl friend and my friends come up to me and tell me that i must stop listening to slipknot, now tell me something, how weak do people have to be to be influenced by a damn band!?

Well, I’m glad to see that only 3 of the 17 people who’ve commented have been brainwashed into believing utter lunacy. I’ve been the biggest Slipknot fan for the past 9 years, and have never been driven to commit homicide.

So their music is heavy, angry and sometimes has very dark themes, but their message is one of perserverance, surviving and struggling through dark times and having a firm belief in yourself.

It’s a shame that this idiot listened to metal, it gives the entire genre a bad name, but then again metal has always had a bad rep for being a little different. If he were listening to classical or pop music, he still would’ve done it and all the closed-minded sheep would just blame something else for his psychotic act. This little piece of sh*t is responible for his own actions and nothing else is to blame.

The thought that Slipknot is satanist is total BS. Their image is to allow them to distance themselves and not be restricted by their images in their music. And i’m 100% positive not a single song is even remotely satanic. believe it or not you can look scary and not be a freak. take Clown from Slipknot for instance. He’s one of the most creative and genius people ever to live. Also not a single member is satanic. Corey Taylor, the singer, is a very religious man. And Clown has a wife and kids so i really doubt he’s praying to satan every day. but even then people just don’t seem to get that satanism isn’t what they think.
