Robert Mugabe has admitted that his first round election loss to Morgan Tsvangirai was “disasterous”. He made the comment to a meeting of his central committee. Sapa reported it thus:

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe admitted at a meeting of his ruling
party Friday that his loss in a first-round of presidential elections
in the country had been “disastrous.”
“Although the presidential result did not yield an outright winner,
it was indeed disastrous,” he told the central committee of his ruling
ZANU-PF party.
“Nevertheless we are set for a second round, for the run-off which
must now decide the winner.”

As Tsvangirai heads back to Zimbabwe to contest the run-off, all eyes are on how Mugabe will deal with the “disaster”. There are fears that he will not allow a repitition of the electoral loss at any costs.

Yep. this is the final countdown.
Every day I go visit the zim gov mouthpiece http: //www .herald. co. zw/ and marvel at the rhetoric. What a great place to brush up on propaganda skills, not to mention a blast from the past. 28 years later the same points of view about the evil west are published. The editor seems to be the old man himself, the rhetoric rings a bell…the bookies in the evil UK are gonna have a field day!
