ZIMBABWEAN President, Robert Mugabe, has not been seen in public since he was filmed casting his vote on Saturday. Speculation shortly after the poll was that he might have left the country for Paraguay or Malaysia, a country he frequently visits on holiday. But there has been no evidence to back up this speculation. (And a very amusing April’s fool story in The Times placing him in Mbeki’s residence in Tshwane.)
Far more likely is that an exhausted Mugabe, who threw himself into a heavy campaign schedule as the writing began to appear on the wall, is holed up in his official residence without a political way forward.
Appearing in public will mean having to say something about the election. But what can he say without losing face?
If he resigns and concedes defeat, he will face humiliation at home and calls for him to be held to account for decades of atrocities and corruption.
But, if he holds out, he will be cruelly exposed as the MDC has played its political cards quite brilliantly, credibly claiming a victory.

We of sound mind and spirit believe that the time has come where Mr. Mugabe must realize that his criminal actions have come to an end now. We must be vigilant with someone as evil as Bob…be assured that he is crafting a plan to maintain the only thing he cares about…POWER.
Do not be lulled into inaction by the snake’s coiling silence…
Why must anyone know where President Mugabe is since he is not Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe is not him but a mere Public Servant who has his mandate and is busy executing that mandate.
Tim, I cant believe that you actually believe that this evil man is being mandated to commit these attrocities. Bob has tasted power and being extremely power hungry has abused every single human right in his bid to stay in power for the majority of his presidency. Where is Bob? I hope he digs a hole for himself and crawls in there never to be seen again. Then again, it would be far too mild a punishment…
why is every gov is not commenting on the actions of the Zim votes? We as South Africans we must know that whatever the out come of Zim is going to affect South Africa by far. Lets pray they wont resort to civil violence if they did we are going down with them. Look what is happening in East Africa. Mbeki must do something about this.
Bob has nine lives like a cat that scares me. if there is a run off he will try to do what he did with the constitution in 2000 which he later rigged in 2002. I believe this is his ninth life!!!!!
Hmm.. not been seen in a while.. an evil power hungry madman hiding from society after a fall from the high chair? where have we seen this before?
All I can say is that I hope it ends in the same way for him as another evil ******* who lived around 60 odd years ago…
Bob is a crazy, evil man. But many South Africans have a difficult tasks here. What do you do when your favorite uncle goes crazy? The guy who helped you grow up and sheltered you in the dark days? What do we do about our crazy uncle Bob?
…but where is Thabo Mbeki?
OR … where is Jacob Zuma?
Why are South African leaders not voicing horror at Mugabe’s reluctance to step down?
Maybe Mbeki could set up a special unfenced Beverley Hill style township in Waterkloof for his growing mob of freeloading megalomaniac exiled guests such as His ex-Excellency Bob Mugabe, Ethiopian mass murderer pal, Mengistu Haile Mariam and that Haitan diasporic despot,Jean Bertand-Aristide. Liberia’s Charles Taylor would jump at the chance, between his busy court appearence schedule
