THERE the politicians go again. There is mass protest in Pakistan against the military rule of Pervez Musharraf.
Benazir Bhutto and Imran Khan have been arrested. Lawyers have been jailed, judges stripped of their robes.
And who is to blame? Like all good tin-pot dictators, Musharraf has a ready answer: “We may lose the battle on terror because of misreporting by some parts of the media in Pakistan and around the world.”
So its not the arrest of the legal fraternity, the endless postponing of democratic elections, or the failure of the Pakistani security forces?
Sorry, sir. You are to blame.
President Musharaff is right, the western media and media in Pakistan are hindering the global fight on terror.
How dare you portray him as some sort of dictator and Benazir bhutto as some angel sent from the Heavens,
This woman has twice been premier of Pakistan and twice stolen billions from the banks of Pakistan.
Musharaff has bought pakistan forward from the corruption and incompetence of the bhutto and shariff governments.
And yeah we should all feel sorry for Imran khan who sided with terrorists who seized a mosque and killed 100′s of innocent children. Well done GREAT article.
Just out of interest It would be great to know why news corp. have Started promoting Bhutto as some sort Martin luther king type of figure?
There should not be a slight doubt in anyone’s mind that Musharraf is fully responsible for the turmoil from which Pakistan is going through. All his claims of free judiciary and free media have crumbled down upon him and finally his charade of so called freedom has come to an end. While he has put the country in worst chaos at least this has exposed his self-centered interests and thus he has numbered his days. I say throw him out of his office and trial him for treason and bringing the country to brink of destruction. Trial him against the judiciary he suspended and let him face his worst nightmare. I say make him an example for the whole army so that no one among armed forces dare to take a step towards the parliament and do what they are meant to do, serve and people and protect the country.
Sleep in the Bush, come up with fleas so to speak. He’s been had and he doesn’t even know it.
I remember thinking, when Iraq was invaded and Saddam deposed, in part with the assistance of Musharraf, that here was America’s next headache (self-induced, of course) waiting in the wings.
