Christmas should be a time of giving, getting and being generally nice to each other. It should be awesome. Except we have a war on Christmas declared over “Political correctness.”
Here is a bit of history: Happy Holidays was most likely brought in by the song “White Christmas” in about 1942, and an America so politically correct that this Dr “Cat in the Hat” Seuss was putting out:

Variations on Seasons’ Greetings started out from the greeting card industry back in the Victorian era. This was the same era that had only just gotten around to banning what amounts to using child slave labour as chimney sweeps (Kind of puts a whole new and horrifying complexion on Mary Poppins).
Consider all the religions you have come into contact with in your day-to-day, non-Islamic country life, and consider for example how their members act when you give them a slightly generic greeting for their holy day.
They act slightly surprised that you remembered it, and certainly don’t seem to care much if you didn’t. Whether it is Ramadan or Hanukkah or Diwali, even the most sacred days aren’t so sacred that anybody is going to get bent out of shape from non-believers getting them wrong or outright forgetting them.
Right up until you are dealing with Christmas. Various specials remind us that if we don’t celebrate it, we are horrible people and you have Christians who feel perfectly happy to say they will punch people in the throat for using the wrong greeting – as a “You with me” kind of a joke article.
This isn’t peace and joy, this is mean spirited jerks telling you what to do. It takes what should be one of those holidays we all love, and dumps it in an incinerator of hatred and stupidity.
Christmas has been hijacked by greed. Take it off our list of holidays, let real Christians celebrate it as they wish. We do not want it to be polluted as it has been.
Real Christians know that 25 Dec is just symbolic-noone is sure of exact date.
christmas today is a far cry from wat it used to be and we christians are to blame as we are the ones who comercialised it !
@ RM Whytock Please define “real christian” for me. Does that include only members of your sect that believe exactly as you do or is it open to include others?
