The Bookseller reports that Salman Rushdie plans to write a sequel to one of my favourite of his books – Haroun and the Sea of Stories. Rushdie wrote the book in 1990 for his son Zafar. The sequel Luka and the Fire of Life will be published in 2010 by Jonathan Cape. Rushdie has written the story for his son Milan who was born in 1999. His most recent novel is The Enchantress of Florence published last year. I interviewed him over the phone about that book early last year:
