Twenty-three years later, boasting of 45million viewers in the US alone and after reaching over 135 countries in the world, talk show queen Oprah Winfrey today will announce live on her show, that the show is coming to an end in September 2011.

Winfrey who has interviewed the most powerful people in the world such as former president of South Africa Nelson Mandela, Presidents of the US such as Bill Clinton, George Bush and Barack Obama and having profiled stars such as her interview with the late King of Pop Michael Jackson in 1996, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Hollywood’s greatest, the show will be no more after 25 seasons of broadcasting.

In an interview on another US show on 14 December 1986, Winfrey talked about her first show saying, if the show does not succeed she will make it happen somehow.

“If the show does not succeed which I have hope that it will, I know I will succeed wither way,” she told the reporter then.

Now having been announced by Forbes as one of the wealthiest black people in the world and worth over $2,5 billion, Winfrey will retire her popular show that has the world glued at her talking about her endless battle with her weight and how she is hlepiing give back to the world through her Angel Network, that has since built two schools in the world with one bieng the Oprah Winfrey Academy for Girls that is based in South Africa.

Now the show Winfrey will be starting a cable channel with Discovery Communications Inc.

Today, Winfrey is expected to provide further details about her plansfor the future.

Spokesman for Winfrey’s Chicago-based Harpo Inc., Don Halcombe said yesterday in an interview, Winfrey will be hosting a show and develop programs for her Oprah Winfrey Network, according to two people with knowledge of the plans.

“The sun will set on the ‘Oprah’ show as its 25th season draws to a close,” said Tim Bennett, president of Harpo, in a letter to stations that carry the program. The entertainer’s comments today on the “live show will mark a historic television moment that we will all be talking about for years.”

Another talk show host and friend of Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres said she was sad to hear that the queen of talk show would not be doing the show anymore.

“I was talking to Oprah and she said her last show would be in 2011, she also said that she will be giving me all her money, and I thought oh thank you Oprah,” she joked.

There is no telling as to who will take over Winfrey’s leading show which will have been on its 25th year in 2011.

oh well there goes my moral compass.. guess im gonna hav to get the dvd box set so i can refer to miss o whenever i need someone to tell me what to eat , wear , how to breathe
