There is something about the riveting ladies of Jamali, they seem to capture and excite people with their stage performance and that is exactly what they did at Moloko.
Am sure you can remember them from being the runner up of Coca-Cola Popstars in2004, that was initially own by their male counterparts Ghetto Lingo that has since fallen off this planet, with one of them Bjorn Blignaut enteringthe rival singing competition Idols and the rest just faded. But Liesl Penniken, Mariechan Luiters, and Jacqui Carpede outlived that boys showing them that there is such a thing as girl power when they made hits such as Love me for me, Dalile and Things we do For Love.
Although since I hadn’t seen them performing in months performing, that made the heart grow fonder and impatient to see what they were going to give the audience.
And in a suprise they seemed to know where to go, what to sing and in those uber hot outfits of show-bras with diamantes and black pants, skits and minis they proved that with rehearsal all things are possible. And ofcoarse their great voices played a huge part in the whole performance. I loved their song “knowing me and knowing you” more.
And as part of the theme guests rocked up in 80s gear of afros, even the barmen played along making the event an even better experience.
Liezl, Jacqui and Meriechan, you ladies are amazing, they surely can give the non-existence Destiny’s Child a run for their moola.
